Position Purpose
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing general accounting functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations for TAIT’s ASIA region.
Responsibilities
General Accounting:
Bank transaction postings and bank account reconciliation
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Cash flow management and forecasting
Project Accounting & Reporting
Preparation of project financial data and improving visibility on project costs
Work in consultation with Project Management and other departments for the management and control of contract costs and profitability
Support the Project Management team with setting up project codes, support them with their project budgets and forecasts, invoicing and revenue recognition and cost estimating
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow).
Ensure financial statements comply with regional requirements.
Assist with the preparation of reports for senior management, including variance analysis and financial performance insights.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounting records.
Complete journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Investigate discrepancies in accounts and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Month-End and Year-End Closing:
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Ensure proper documentation and support for all accounting transactions.
Prepare and review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
Lead in preparing for internal and external audits.
Maintain effective accounting policies and procedures.
Tax Preparation and Statutory Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and work with tax professionals for tax compliance.
Ensure proper accounting for tax liabilities and deferred taxes.
Ensure statutory reporting or audits are complete timely and accurate.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
Understanding and experience of Project Accounting
Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
Possess excellent IT skills and a working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
Proficient in accounting software (ERP preferred).
Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
High level of verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
Proactive and problem-solving, meeting deadlines type
Reliability, flexibility, organized, attention to detail, ability to work to strict deadlines
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation (desirable)
Experience with ERP systems and advanced accounting software (desirable)
Knowledge of tax laws and regulations (desirable)
Experience in the construction or manufacturing industries (desirable)
Percentage completion accounting (desirable)
