Summary:The Accounting Clerk provides general support for the Accounting Department in various ways. The core function of the role involves making general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations, but other duties will support an array of accounting processes. Overall, the ideal candidate will contribute to building a solid foundation for all accounting activities within the organization. Essential job functions are described below.

Job Functions:

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
• Make general ledger entries as required.
• Oversee Fixed Assets and related depreciation and amortization entries.
• Research accounting irregularities and discrepancies as required.
• Assist the Accounts Payable function and serve in a backup role.
• Monitor collateral and pledging requirements for FHLB.
• Assist with financial reporting as required.
• Gather information in conjunction with audits and examinations.
• Assist with tax notifications, requirements, and payments.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or similar field required, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of banking, accounting, or finance experience preferred.
• Might be considered for a remote position.
• Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
