Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Geologist to join our team in the Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans field tasks, for environmental drilling, groundwater and soil sample collection, and management of field data

  • Prepares field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards

  • Maintains Excel databases associated with regulatory compliance

  • Assists with preparing regulatory submittals, such as reports, permit applications, and plans

  • Oversees well installations and soil borings

  • Collects groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and surface water samples

  • Retrieves necessary data using online databases, off-line records, or other means

  • Enters collected data into report format using applicable software and company formatting guidelines

  • Applies basic knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs

  • Assist with on-call emergency projects on occasion

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology from an ABET accredited institution

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience

  • Currently have GIT certification or plan on obtaining within one year

  • Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting

  • Proficient with MS Office suite of products

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus

  • Previous consulting experience is a plus

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance
