Job Summary:The NETOPS System Administrator at the Joint Cyber Training Enterprise (JCTE) will contribute subject matter expertise to enhance network/system stability and analytics, while advancing NETOPS maturity. Responsibilities include acquiring knowledge in cyber range design, implementation, validation, and execution. The role requires proficiency across a wide range of IT and cybersecurity products, tools, architectures, and implementations, utilizing this expertise to ensure the stability of Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) platforms and providing detailed reports. Additionally, the candidate will support individual and large-scale collective training, addressing operational mission rehearsal needs for the Cyber National Mission Forces (CNMF) at U.S Cyber Command (USCC). Collaboration with customers and third-party organizations is crucial, and the candidate should be adept at responding to ad-hoc technical requirements while managing priorities across the enterprise. The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations is essential.

Essential Job Functions:As a NETOPS System Administrator, you will monitor system performance, utilize platform tools, and communicate effectively with reporting agencies. Responsibilities include overseeing PCTE resources, identifying best practices, and supporting large-scale cyber exercises. The System Administrator will contribute to cyber training, mission rehearsal events, and help establish an internal NETOPS capability at JCTE. Collaborating with a skilled team, the engineer will provide cyber range expertise for training operations across USCC and various service components and agencies.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in the Joint Events Life Cycle (JELC) with intermediate knowledge of defensive and offensive cyber tools.
  • Day-to-day network performance monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of analytics tools such as Metabase and Grafana.
  • Background in VMware, Net App, and RedHat Linux (RHEL).
  • Collects metrics and trending data, develops data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Experienced in technical support and quality assurance for platform resources and services.
  • Manages both classified and unclassified PCTE instances and associated resources.
  • Analyzes data sources, assesses validity, and provides actionable recommendations.
  • Self-starter in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineers of varying skills and experience levels.
  • Effective written and oral communication with leadership on both business and technical aspects.

Clearance Requirement:For this role, an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with either Full Scope or Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph, is mandatory.

Desired Skills:

  • Problem-solving skills for resolving technical issues across diverse integrated software and hardware platforms.
  • Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong programming experience with frameworks, including XML, SQL, and ETL
  • Proficiency in generating queries and reports, utilizing data analysis tools such as Excel, Meta Base, and SPSS.
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Effective communication with vendors, users, customers, and developers to comprehend needs and operational requirements changes impacting the production environment.
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as IT, computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. (5 years experience in lieu of degree)
  • 8570 Compliant IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification required within six months of hire.

Other Requirements:In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, ligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status and a TS/SCI security clearance. The precise security clearance requisites will be detailed in the Government's Task Order.
