NBC Universal Inventory Specialist in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet Tech Service order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. Responsible for collaborating with business partners. Have a strong data/analytical skill set. This role will require close collaboration externally with vendors and internally with Planners, Managers, Engineers, and upper Management. The position will conduct inventory analysis for Maximo inventory and problem items that need more attention. Will review and adjusts ROP/EOQs as needed. Manage/mitigate vendor/inventory risk, business continuity and ensure Sarbanes Oxley Compliance. Researches and reconciles inventory issues to determine root causes and drive process and procedural changes to correct deficiencies, ensuring efficiency in process and procedures. Supports development of new tools and reporting required for improving analytical capabilities to assist in inventory monitoring.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining purchasing guidelines for Tech Services establishing relationships with supply vendors, interacting with all levels of the organization, and ensuring that all purchasing procedures are being followed. Responsible to process purchasing requisitions and creating and or canceling purchase orders, tracking shipments and order confirmation. Partners with the Sourcing department, ensuring that all zero balance Active inventory items are on order, prioritizing based on criticality. Develop tracking system of inventory and reports weekly results to department management.

  • Assists in maintaining the data integrity of all Maximo records by monitoring and controlling inventory integrity. Updating inventory records based on review of each record and ensure changes are adequately notated and maintaining inventory records in accordance with departmental operating procedures.

  • Perform planned and unplanned cycle counts. Conduct daily audits of previous day’s receipts and issuances, identifying errors, and implementing corrective action. Manage the tracking and reporting of Broken Parts (BP) Assurance items and make appropriate recommendations for stock increases to ensure that stock levels meet part demands.

  • Maintain obsolescence data base, working closely with venue planners and engineering department to ensure obsolete/end of life parts are identified and communicated. Work with Engineering and Doc Control to update drawings on items and include quality requirements on custom order.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Technical school preferred.

  • Associate’s degree in General Education or Technology preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in technical maintenance required.

  • 3+ years’ experience in theme park maintenance preferred

  • ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Ability to work overtime or weekend schedule.
