National Power, LLC HSE - Safety Manager in Orlando, Florida
Summary:
National Power, LLC is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our growing team. Under the general direction of and reporting to the Senior Manager, HSE & Learning Development, the Safety Manager will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the health, safety, and environmental functions for National Power, LLC in order to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Responsibilities are outlined below and include the roll-out and ongoing implementation of various safety programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage safety functions to support safe working environment and compliance with multi-state and federal OSHA standards across various disciplines, to include general construction, AC electrical, DC power, EV charging and solar installations.
Provide coaching and training to management and field technicians to support improved understanding of company HSE programs and procedures
Drive a culture of a 100% incident free workplace by providing consistent HSE messaging, and set an example in actions and efforts daily
Audit site hazard assessments and implement/maintain safety elements at jobsites
Conduct and follow up on accident/incident investigations; ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented
Identify, document and recommend resolution of potentially hazardous conditions; Ensure completion of any personally assigned corrective actions
Conduct employee/vehicle/equipment/safety inspections to ensure ongoing safe practices and compliance with federal regulations and company expectations
Manage SOPs for all field tasks and provide overall metrics
Ongoing evaluation of HSE practices to provide continuous improvement plans as necessary in all field/office related activities
Manage Worker’s Comp and Return to Work (RTW) programs
Support the corporate safety function through the administration of safety platform, setting up safety training for employees, tracking completion progress and maintaining training certificates
Have an ownership of National power HSE procedures and systems, with an eye towards continuous improvement to help drive and support 100% incident free workplace culture and mindset
Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or related field is preferred OR equivalent combination of training and related experience with an additional minimum of 5 years of safety leadership activities in a construction/field environment
Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate will both verbally and in writing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing unique safety challenges in a diverse work environment
Excellent organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Thorough understanding of all federal, state, local and company regulations
Proficiency with OSHA standards
Workers’ Comp and general liability claims experience preferred
Overnight travel required
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or related field is preferred (or related experience related to construction and field safety)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing unique safety challenges in a diverse work environment
Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills

Proficiency with OSHA standards

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of environmental compliance
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations specific to backup power and renewable energy systems
Experience with implementation of safety culture through relationship building and coaching
Familiarity with LOTO, NFPA 70E, and OSHA requirements
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds
Clarity of vision
Sitting/driving for long periods may be required
Frequently required to use hand and finger dexterity (typing and using tools)
Additional Info:

Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employees’ productivity and overall performance
