SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Analyst to join CymSTAR, a leading flight simulation and engineering company engaged with Department of Defense training and simulation systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, conducting market research, calculating Price to Win and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, business acumen, and communication abilities to drive business development initiatives forward.

You will assist the Vice President of Business Development in leading CymSTAR’s growth and expansion efforts; and provide market research and analysis, business planning and strategy, financial analysis, identification of new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market Research and Analysis:

• Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

• Analyze industry data, competitor strategies, and customer behavior to inform business development strategies.

• Monitor market dynamics and regulatory changes to anticipate shifts in the business landscape.

Business Planning and Strategy:

• Assist in the development of business plans and strategic initiatives to drive growth and expansion.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine business strategies.

• Collaborate with senior management to identify new market segments and product/service opportunities.

Financial Analysis:

• Analyze financial data, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, to evaluate business performance.

• Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.

• Identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement to improve overall financial performance.

• Calculate Price to Win (PTW) for potential contracts and opportunities.

Capture Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement Capture Strategies for identified business opportunities.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define competitive differentiators, and value propositions.

• Conduct SWOT analysis and develop strategies to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities.

Partnership Development:

• Identify potential partners, vendors, and strategic alliances to support business objectives.

• Assist in negotiating and structuring partnerships and agreements.

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and business development efforts.

Reporting and Presentation:

• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

• Communicate findings, recommendations, and insights effectively to drive informed decision-making.

• Present analysis and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).

• Proven experience in business analysis, market research, or related field.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools.

• Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional literature. Ability to comprehend and clearly communicate in English. Ability to effectively present information to supervisors, and colleagues. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with attention to detail and accuracy.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.

• Ability to comprehend and calculate ratios and percentages, Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are essential. Experienced and proficient in the use of standard personal computer software tools; including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics and databases.

REASONING ABILITY:

Able to consistently exercise rational discretion and judgment in performance of job. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, reason, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to understand and interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables with minimal assistance.

CITIZENSHIP:

U.S. Citizenship.

SECURITY:

Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense SECRET security clearance.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Strategic thinker with the willingness to learn how to develop and execute innovative business plans.

• Adept at building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.

• Knowledge of relevant industries, markets, and emerging technologies desired, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees will be expected to perform job duties in a typical office environment, from remote/home work location(s), and on location at U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps facilities, including flight lines and other locations where military training is conducted, which will likely require strenuous physical activity and greater physical mobility than required in a typical office environment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• This position will require travel to customer and Industry partner sites typically within the United States.

• Work hours will occasionally be outside typical business hours and may include travel, attending business & social events and meetings with customers and business partners.
