Elevance Health Behavioral Health EAP Consultant II in ORLANDO, Florida

Location: Lake Mary, FL; Will be required on-site 3-5 days a week

Shift: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5:00pm ET

The Behavioral Health EAP Consultant II has the primary responsibility of providing a range of EAP and wellbeing services. These services may include health and wellness training presentations, critical incident stress debriefings, management consultations, reduction in workforce support, mindfulness activities, threat assessment team participation, working with Human Relations, Security, DE&I, and other Employee Relations groups as needed. The onsite Behavioral Health/EAP Consultant II position, although onsite, is currently in hybrid status at the client's organization in Lake Mary, FL.

How you will make an impact:

  • Supports Employee Assistance Program (EAP) service department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services; receives client request, assesses situation, determines appropriate course of action.

  • Provides telephone and/or on-site support for crisis intervention, assessment, short term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).

  • Manages Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.

  • Assesses members and assists them in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.

  • Applies specialized knowledge in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.

  • Provides employer consultation to supervisors, managers, and Human Resources of the EAP contracted organization.

  • Manages shared mailbox that is used by clients and external vendor to forward information that must be reviewed and placed in documentation system.

  • Adheres to state and federal licensing laws and regulations such as duty to warn, mandatory reporting, record maintenance, retention, and release.

  • Initiates appropriate EAP or MHSUD referrals as deemed appropriate and timely appointment scheduling or coordinating outside referrals as needed.

  • Remains abreast of relevant mental health, EAP, regulatory, and legislative developments, and laws impacting workplace and employees.

  • Provides face-to-face support and/or virtual support; first line contact- short term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).

  • Provides support to incident response teams, Security, specialized groups, health center acts as a clinical liaison.

  • Promotes EAP and clinical services support, acts as an ambassador for mental health initiatives at the designated site location through promotional activities and relationship building with key site contacts.

  • Collaborates with Director, Account Manager, and Team Lead on contract related concerns.

Minimum requirements:

  • Requires minimum of 5 years of direct psychiatric and/or substance abuse experience and prior managed care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current unrestricted license such as (but not limited to) LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws), LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Licensed Professional Counselor, in applicable state(s) required.

Preferred skills, capabilities, and experiences:

  • Bilingual Spanish Speaking preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Managed Care contracts.

  • MA/MS preferred.

  • CEAP preferred.
