PURPOSE Operates basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws, etc. to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Reviews work orders to determine cut(s) to be made. * Adjusts saw for required cuts. * Adjusts speed of saw and feeds rolls. * Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls. * Stacks cut lumber after processing. * Advises supervisor of dull saw blades. * Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety produces. * Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills - Ability to read a limited number of two - and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
