Lab Manager I - Zoology (Part Time Variable Hours).and.nbsp;Position Category: Staff - Part-Time (Variable Hour).and.nbsp;Summary:.and.nbsp;Assist in the care and maintenance of the animals in the Biology Department. Assist the lab manager with any animal husbandry, and training and supervision of student volunteers and workers. Coordinate and document daily animal care, including weekends and holidays. Animal husbandry will include feeding, watering, changing and cleaning cages, and cleaning dishes, as well as assisting with clipping nails and beaks..and.nbsp;Required Qualifications:.and.nbsp;Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in an area of expertise commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position OR a related combination of education and experience totaling four years..and.nbsp;Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:.and.nbsp;.and.bull; Knowledge of proper husbandry of invertebrates, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals..and.bull; Knowledge of proper handling of animals..and.bull; Knowledge of OSHA laboratory standards..and.bull; Skill in training and supervising co-workers and assistants..and.bull; Ability to effectively juggle multiple responsibilities..and.bull; Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, supervisor and students and also workproductively with students..and.nbsp;Preferred Qualifications:.and.nbsp;Physical Requirements:.and.nbsp;OccasionallyClimbing, ascending or descending from a ladder, stairs scaffolding, etc.OccasionallyBending or stooping; bending downward and forward by bending spine at waist or by bending leg-spine.FrequentlyTwisting; tuning the upper body while maintaining a stationary at lower body position.RarelyKneeling; bending at the knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.RarelyCrawling; moving about on hands and knees or hand and feet.FrequentlyReaching; extending hand(s) and arm(s) overhead, lower or horizontally of the body.FrequentlyStanding; particularly for extending periods of time.FrequentlySitting; particularly for extending periods of time.FrequentlyWalking; moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
