To learn more about our philosophy and practice, visit: https://www.uvu.edu/social-impact/about-us/.What You'll Be DoingThe Program Director of Engagement & Communications provides strategic leadership in shaping and advancing the public narrative, brand identity, and engagement strategy of the UVU Center for Social Impact. This role is responsible for strategizing and overseeing integrated communication, branding, and outreach strategies that enhance the Center's visibility, deepen campus partnerships, and support the Center's mission of educating and empowering social changemakers.
• Lead and coordinate external communications efforts
• This includes the development and strategic oversight of the Center's newsletter, website, press releases, annual reports, and social media channels.
• Oversee branding consistency, graphic production, and additional communication initiatives to ensure alignment with the Center's strategic priorities.
• Supervise a team of student assistants who function as marketing ambassadors
• Ensure students' work is aligned with broader outreach goals.
• Coach students to maximize campus engagement through peer advising, tabling, and targeted promotional campaigns.
• Develop and supervise major engagement events, strategically positioning them to strengthen CSI's relationships across the university and the broader community.
• Oversee the Center's Donor & Alumni Relations
• Facilitate storytelling and reporting to Advancement.
• Strategically direct donor relation efforts including grant-writing processes and alumni/donor events.

Summary of Responsibilities
• Communications Strategy oversight and direction. Provide leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that advances the Center's mission and visibility. Oversee the creation and distribution of all external communications, including newsletters, social media content, web content, press releases, and annual reports, ensuring alignment with CSI's voice and strategic goals. Set storytelling priorities and maintain branding and style standards across all platforms, ensuring accessibility, clarity, and consistency. Lead the strategic development of content calendars and integrated messaging initiatives that highlight impact, opportunities, and programs.
• Marketing Strategy oversight and direction and Student Team Mentorship. Direct the Center's marketing and digital presence strategies, including social media management, promotional campaigns, and campus visibility efforts. Supervise, train, and mentor a team of student assistants who lead peer outreach, tabling, and advisement initiatives, ensuring their work is strategic, impactful, and aligned with Center priorities. Oversee the creation of multimedia content, graphic design assets, and event promotions to strengthen engagement and amplify the Center's reach across campus and beyond. Analyze digital engagement data to inform marketing strategy adjustments and optimize impact. Oversee major engagement events development and execution.
• Advancement Strategy and Donor/Alumni Relations oversight and direction. Lead efforts to identify grant opportunities, support grant writing initiatives, and collaborate with Advancement to build relationships with potential donors. Oversee the development of alumni engagement strategies, including storytelling campaigns and alumni networks, to foster long-term support and connection to the Center's mission. Ensure strategic alignment between fundraising messaging, donor communications, and overall advancement efforts. Oversee alumni/donor events development and execution.
• Department Systems. Maintain and refine internal systems for communications, marketing, event planning, and advancement tracking to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Establish timelines, protocols, and evaluation practices to ensure consistent progress toward engagement and advancement goals. Support cross-team collaboration by ensuring that communication and marketing strategies are integrated with broader CSI initiatives and planning. Become proficient in UVU systems that help carry out these duties.
• Carry out other duties necessary to the success of the programs and other projects within the Center for Social Impact, including assisting in executing events and office support.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
A bachelor's degree is required in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
• A master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related fields.
• Experience with student leadership, community outreach, and/or teaching
• Experience planning events in higher education or nonprofit settings.
• Experience in multiple pathways of social impact (Direct Service, Community Engaged Learning & Research, Social
• Entr epreneurship & Corporate Social Responsibility, Policy & Governance, Community Organizing & Activism, and Philanthropy)
• Knowledge of inclusive communication practices and commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices.
• A knowledge of and commitment to social impact and civic engagement work.
