Professional Plastics Project Manager in Orchard Park, New York

Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within the customer’s requirements. The Project Manager plans and designates project resources, prepares jobs, monitors progress and keeps all parties informed throughout projects. This is all done within the confines of a company's goals and vision. The Project Manager is needed on a wide variety of projects, including estimating, outside processing of parts, creating relationships with outside vendors and contract reviews. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned. • Determines and defines project scope and objectives • Predicts resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner • Prepares budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements • Tracks job costs in order to meet approved budgets • Develops and manages a detailed project schedule and work plan • Provides project updates on a consistent basis to Director or Manufacturing about strategy, adjustments and progress • Manages contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables • Utilizes industry best practices, techniques and standards throughout entire project execution • Monitors progress and makes adjustments as needed • Measures project performance to identify areas for improvement • Ensures project documentation and value assurance to accuracy of the job details input by operation/machinist • Resolves customer complaints resulting from damaged parts, files customer and company freight claims when required • Provides constructive feedback and weekly summary to management on non-profitable jobs in order to meet company goals and objectives • Attends and participates in branch sales and training meetings To perform the job successfully, the individual must have the following minimum qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Proven ability to solve problems creatively • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle • Excellent analytical skills • Strong interpersonal skills and resourcefulness • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget and timeline • Ability to read print break down of material used per job, adjusts material usage, time per operation issued and goods receipts • Ability to decipher the standard use of machines: bending, flame polishing and thermal forming Education and Experience: (Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications) • 5-8 years of project management and related experience • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred • College Degree or experiential equivalent Benefits: • DailyPay - Earned Wage Access • Medical • Dental • Vision • Flexible Spending Account • 401K Plan with Company Match • Basic Life and AD&D • Voluntary Life Insurance • Long Term Disability • Employee Assistance Program • Paid Time Off (PTO) • Paid Holidays • Short Term Disability • Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity • MetLife Legal Plan • Norton LifeLock • United Pet Care Discount Program • LifeMart Employee Discounts • Morgan Stanley Financial Advice Job Type: Full Time Equal Opportunity Employer: Disability/Veteran
