Eaton Corporation Business Development Manager in Orchard Park, New York

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Business Development Manager. This position is eligible for remote work from a home office within the United States or can be based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.

Eaton Mission Systems specializes in the manufacturing of life saving devices, pneumatic systems, military and space applications.

The Business Development Manager is responsible to drive revenue growth by leading front-end pursuits and campaigns for new technology, services and applications for existing customers (Business Development) as well as new customers (Market Development).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Identify opportunities and associated value propositions, working across the BU to develop solutions. Manage pursuits through to contract award / handover. Develop a strong opportunity pipeline that supports the Business Unit and Sector’s strategic and long-range goals. Serve as the liaison between engineering and military end users / subject matter experts to develop custom Satellite Propulsion systems.

  • Use Opportunity Identification and Business Capture best practices to identify, qualify and develop revenue opportunities related to key Aerospace and Defense Industry opportunities and pursuits related to MSD’s portfolio of products.

  • Experience of capability products’ the customer community and their operational requirements is desirable.

  • Develop and execute win strategies to bring innovative solutions to customers.

  • Act as a Capture Team Manager or be part of a capture team to support driving key business plan for market growth objectives.

  • Act as 'voice of the customer' and encourage team behaviors that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits.

  • Maintain pipeline health to exceed order intake targets to support revenue generation for the Satellite Propulsion product portfolio.

  • Drive quality and timely responses of customer deliverables (e.g., white papers, RFIs, RFPs).

  • Drive the Integrated Product Teams through appropriate Business Capture decisions with a pragmatic view of the business’s ability to deliver a solution in line with overall opportunity objectives.

  • Own pursuit through contract negotiation and acceptance to Program hand-off.

  • Provide input to support internal business strategy development, market analysis, long-range growth plans, and product and technology roadmaps.

  • May be responsible to coordinate work and/or assist in orienting and training employees.

  • Strong interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, team working)

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Delivery focused mind-set.

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities. May be responsible to coordinate work and/or assist in orienting and training employees.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing new business capture strategies and contracting in the Military and/or Aerospace & Defense industry

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Three (3) years or higher experience presenting to internal & external senior management

  • Three (3) years experience of demonstrating excellent customer and Aerospace & Defense industry relationships

  • Prior work experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Aerospace & Defense OEM

  • Experience implementing a business strategy that resulted in achievement of short range (12-18 months) and long range (3-5 years) organic growth plans through pipeline management and strategies
