Child Care Resources of Rockland CACFP Specialist in Orangeburg, New York

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children who are enrolled in care at participating child care programs. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children in the United States.

Taking into account the cultural and linguistic needs of the community, the CACFP Specialist will assist child care providers in meeting program requirements by providing support and technical assistance; processing new and renewing applications, documents, and enrollment forms; program inspections/monitor visits; data management; and by processing compliance issues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and update personal knowledge of CACFP program requirements, contract requirements, child development, developmentally appropriate practice, nutrition, and other topics related to position responsibilities. 2.Conduct provider inspections/monitor visits as required and provide follow-up/support as needed. Assure Meal Pattern and Meal Service Observation compliance. 3.Collect and manage applications, documents, and enrollment forms. Review program documents, menu submissions, attendance records, and conformity with all other requirements for CACFP program compliance. 4.Supply data and information collected to the CACFP Coordinator. 5.Keep current on and communicate all CACFP program rules, regulations, and requirements. 6.Guide all providers on staying compliant. Responsible for all compliance issues and follow through with providers. 7.Maintain ongoing contact with both participating child care providers and prospective participants to include giving technical assistance using a variety of methods such as face-to-face, phone, videoconferencing, mail, and email. 8.Participate in internal and external meetings to assure information on the CACFP program, regulatory changes, nutrition information, etc. is shared widely. 9.Participate in other projects or activities as assigned; perform additional tasks as required. 10.Participate in agency/community events, visibilities, and a variety of internal agency and Board meetings and events such as fundraisers, Annual Meeting, etc. 11.Maintain personal and professional growth and development through a variety of activities.

Job Type: Part-Time (21 hours per week). Salary: $23,620.
