Administrative Assistant (part-time)

The Business and Economics Department and the Center for Innovation & Leadership at Northwestern College invite applications for a shared part-time (approximately 1,000 hours between August 1 and May 31) administrative position starting August 2024.

The ideal candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, have a willingness to learn Canva, and have a servant attitude. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities. The role includes assistance for two different areas.

Business & Economics Department: Within this department, the administrative assistant will assist the department’s faculty in successfully recruiting, retaining and graduating excellent students. The assistant will work with members of the department to develop relationships with and create positive on-campus experiences for future and current students. The assistant will also make connections for the department within the community; help facilitate experiential learning opportunities; and assist with coordinating the placement of students in practicums, internships and jobs. The position will also work with the leadership team of the student-led Business Club on maintaining the department’s social media and marketing presence.

Center for Innovation & Leadership: Within the Center for Innovation & Leadership, this position will assist the Center’s director and assistant director in carrying out the five main program areas. The assistant will serve approximately 5 hours a week on average in this role (flexible). Much of this position involves communication and creative work, including performing frequent email communication, managing the social media accounts, and creating advertisements using Canva. This position will also assist with preparation of agendas and reservations for the Accelerate Siouxland program. As the micro-credential program continues to grow, additional tasks such as managing the processes and databases will be essential. Overall, this opening seeks a creator, innovator and thinker with an enterprising personality who loves seeking opportunities while serving others.
