Builders FirstSource Class A CDL Delivery Driver in Opelika, Alabama

POSITION AVAILABLE THROUGH THE OJT PROGRAM

  1. Drive a vehicle weighing greater than 26,000 pounds and tow vehicles or trailers greater than 10,000 pounds.
  2. Adheres to driver safety / compliance regulations.
  3. Delivers un-damaged goods on schedule.
  4. Provide profession service to customers.
  5. Load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle.
  6. Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site.
  7. Maneuvers vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensures that vehicle.
  8. Load equipment into a proper position.
  9. Assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately.
  10. Take all precautions to protect the product and customers property.
  11. Verify order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and / or weighs of items, mileage, and locations of deliveries.
  12. Check items against invoice to ensure order accuracy.
  13. Act as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer.
  14. Handle customer concerns and help resolve issues as they arise.
  15. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles.
  16. Perform routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
  17. Use hand held devices, except for while driving, to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS.
  18. Maintain hours of service logs and pre / post trip inspection procedures.
  19. Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas.
  20. Understand and observe all safety procedures.
  21. Understand practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
  22. Attend periodic safety meetings as required.
  23. Recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
  24. Maintain a valid Class A CDL.
  25. Pass an MVR report.
  26. Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  27. Be able to learn and apply basic math skills.
  28. Be able to learn and apply measurement skills.
  29. Build working relationships.
  30. Seek to resolve issues constructively within work relationships.
  31. Know and support teammates work and deliverables.
  32. Encourage team unity through sharing information or expertise.

  36. Perform duties within a production environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
  37. Be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently.
  38. On occasion, be required to lift and carry (with assistance) up to 200 pounds.
  39. Perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
  40. Be able to physically operate delivery vehicles.
  41. Climb up and down into the vehicle cab.
  42. Twist torso for 360 degrees of visibility.
  43. Use arms to operate controls within and outside the vehicle.
  44. Learn and abide by Builders FirstSource operations guidelines, rules and protocols.
  45. Perform other job-related duties as required.
