Builders FirstSource Class A CDL Delivery Driver in Opelika, Alabama
POSITION AVAILABLE THROUGH THE OJT PROGRAM
- Drive a vehicle weighing greater than 26,000 pounds and tow vehicles or trailers greater than 10,000 pounds.
- Adheres to driver safety / compliance regulations.
- Delivers un-damaged goods on schedule.
- Provide profession service to customers.
- Load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle.
- Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site.
- Maneuvers vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensures that vehicle.
- Load equipment into a proper position.
- Assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately.
- Take all precautions to protect the product and customers property.
- Verify order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and / or weighs of items, mileage, and locations of deliveries.
- Check items against invoice to ensure order accuracy.
- Act as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer.
- Handle customer concerns and help resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles.
- Perform routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
- Use hand held devices, except for while driving, to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS.
- Maintain hours of service logs and pre / post trip inspection procedures.
- Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas.
- Understand and observe all safety procedures.
- Understand practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
- Attend periodic safety meetings as required.
- Recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
- Maintain a valid Class A CDL.
- Pass an MVR report.
- Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
- Be able to learn and apply basic math skills.
- Be able to learn and apply measurement skills.

- Be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently.
- On occasion, be required to lift and carry (with assistance) up to 200 pounds.
- Perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
- Be able to physically operate delivery vehicles.
- Climb up and down into the vehicle cab.
- Twist torso for 360 degrees of visibility.
- Use arms to operate controls within and outside the vehicle.
- Learn and abide by Builders FirstSource operations guidelines, rules and protocols.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
