JOB SUMMARY Working from models or blueprints, this position is responsible for welding various materials utilizing primarily flux core and GTAW methods. Other duties include minor assembly/deburring of some parts and transporting parts via forklift.
QUALIFICATIONS
- General welding knowledge and at least 2years' experience performing FCAW and GTAW welding. Completion of a certified training program may be substituted for experience.
- Prior experience working onforged steel, some aluminum desired.
- AWS certification preferred or must be able to be internally certified
- Ability to become forklift certified and use an overhead crane
- Must be able to work overtime regularly and weekends as needed
- Must be able to communicate effectively and understand instructions
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines
- Must be flexible and adaptable with regard to changing priorities and assignments
- Must be highly safety conscious and work with safety as the number one priority
WORK ENVIRONMENT Shop floor environment with noise (under 80 db), dirt, oil and grease. Exposure to heat and cold (building is not climate controlled.) Some walking surfaces may be slippery and slip-resistant shoes are required. Occasional exposure to air-borne oil/coolant mist and hazardous chemicals. Position requires individual to be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., wear protective gear (weld hood, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). Ability to reach, grasp, pull, push, see, hear and communicate. Uniforms are provided and required to be worn.
