Siemens Energy Project Manager in Olean, New York

Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced Project Manager with hands-on industrial equipment expertise. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and supervising planned activities from beginning to end. They balance budgets, keep track of work in progress, collaborate with suppliers, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed per schedule.

The individual will work with engineering, drafting, supply chain management, manufacturing, quality, and shipping to ensure the overall scope of supply per the quotation proposals is achieved. The individual will manage large multi-faceted projects and multiple projects at the same time. The candidates will have the opportunity to communicate with all levels of the organization, for example, explaining requirements to skilled craftsmen, technically supporting the scope of supply to other professionals, or resolving customer concerns.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Handlethe order entry and transition process for assigned projects. Revieworder-entry packages and facilitate the receipt of all requiredinformation. Initiate the project through required formalities andinternal/external kickoff meetings.

  • Takefull ownership of the scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.Fully understand the provisions of the contract and ensure organizationalcompliance with all requirements.

  • Developproject plans as necessary to implement the project successfully. Monitorand maintain the master project schedule including identification of thecritical path and near critical path items to maintain delivery and costobjectives. Effectively report the progress and status of the project tomanagement and the client by the project plan. Adequately document allsubsequent (addendum) contractual agreements, both technical andcommercial, and manage project scope via Contract Change Authorizations(CCA). Develop project-specific risk management plans and proactivelymanage technical and commercial risk throughout project execution tominimize company exposure.

  • Manageand maintain the project budget, initiating and facilitating correctiveaction to maintain financial objectives and revenue recognition.Positively influence financial position, by cash flow management, workingwith accounting group and client to ensure timely issue and collection ofinvoices related to payments.

  • Supportthe project through the warranty phase, working with the CommissioningEngineering Team member to address installation, startup, or warrantyissues.

  • Liaisewith clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to developrelationships that are conducive to the successful completion of theproject. Conduct Lessons Learned meetings for all projects; identifycorrective actions and standard processes and solicit a CustomerSatisfaction Survey for the contract closure process.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’of Science Degree in Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+years of project management experience in industrial equipment or relatedindustries with applied mechanical skills is required.

  • Experiencedealing directly with urgent critical-path project items, milestones, andkey project results.

  • Understandingof project management concepts, practices and procedures, and schedulemanagement tools (e.g. MS Project or equivalent).

  • Mustbe a steadfast problem-solver with big-picture focus, with the ability tomultitask.

  • Proficiencyin the application of computerized systems, including standard businessapplications (i.e. MS Office)

  • Qualifiedindividuals are able to clearly communicate effectively both orally &written. (Candidates will prepare & make presentations to any internal/external client level.)

  • Professionalproject management certification, such as PMI or IPMA is preferred.

  • Familiarwith centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, gas, and/or steamturbines is preferred.

  • Applicantsmust be legally authorized for employment in the United States withoutneed for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. SiemensEnergy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible forinternal transfers.

Additional Position Requirements:

  • Travelboth domestically and internationally (Up to 25% on an annual basis istypical).

  • Avalid driver’s license is required.

  • Musthave the ability to obtain a passport.

  • Abilityto travel by plane is required.

The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $105,000 - $150,000 and the annual incentive target is 15% incentive based on level) of base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
