DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Yard Hand is responsible for assisting with carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Haul, block and launch boats * Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement * Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crewmembers as needed * Operate yard machinery including 75-Ton Travelift, 35-Ton hydraulic trailer, forklift, power washer, etc. * Grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness * Availability to work overtime when required * Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities * Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training * Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area * Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately
