Honeywell Sr. Advanced Project Engineer – Communication, Navigation and Surveillance in Olathe, Kansas
Exciting Opportunity within the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) organization!
This position is for the Senior Advanced Project Engineer within the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) COE. The CNS team is a large global team based out of Deer Valley Arizona with design teams in Minneapolis Minnesota, Bangalore India, Hyderabad India, Bruno Czech Republic, and Beijing China. The CNS team designs, builds, and maintains some of the world’s most valued safety systems within the Aerospace industry. The product line spans from Weather, Radar, Ground Proximity Warning Systems, Instrumented Landing Systems, Communication, Datalink and Navigation Radios, Transponders, Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems and Radar Altimeters. As a Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in leading and managing engineering projects across the global CNS domain. You will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams. By developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, you will ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Your expertise in project management and technical engineering will contribute to successful project outcomes and drive operational excellence.
You will report directly to our Olathe Electronic Solutions Engineering site Leader and be matrixed to the CNS Director of Project Engineering, and you'll work out of our Olathe, Kansas location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of our advanced engineering projects. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead teams in development of proposals, statements of work and associated cost estimates. • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and the program manager. • Define and implement project scope, objectives, deliverables, prepare schedules and resource forecasting in Microsoft project. • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics. • Lead a robust risk management process to identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery. • Contain scope growth though robust baseline change management. • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.The ideal candidate has a commitment to aviation safety, technical and professional excellence, a commitment to customer satisfaction and growth, demonstrates leadership and delivers on results, has a global mindset and is able to foster teamwork and diversity, demonstrates personal and professional integrity, has strong oral and written communication skills, is able to work across functional boundaries at multiple levels, and can establish strong working relationships within internal/external customers and the certification agencies.

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering or related field • 5+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles in the Aerospace industryWE VALUE
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) • Ability to lead teams to fast, practical solutions using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing project requirements. • Passion for innovation and continuous learning. • Willingness to travel to customer and internal Honeywell meetings both domestic and international. • Advanced degree preferred.ABOUT HONEYWELL
