Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Software Engineering, Specialist, to support the RC-135 Operational Flight Trainer/Simulator (OFT) for our location at Offutt AFB, NE. The RC-135 OFT Software Engineer plays a key role in developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining software for the platforms OFT. This position will be responsible for host, instructor station, audio, flight controls, and motion software updates, being part of a talented team striving to produce a realistic simulated environment for the US Air Force customer.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, document, develop, integrate, and test software for applications using C/C++ on Windows and Linux operating systems.
Participate in peer reviews for software acceptance
Develop deliverable test plans, procedures, and reports
Collaborate with Visual Database implementation
Participate in requirements development
Participate in code reviews
Document, debug, and correct Software Bugs
Perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
DoD SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain one within the first 6 months
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
OR 8 years of prior related experience without a degree
Demonstrated knowledge of computing architecture and operating systems
Preferred Additional Skills:
Basic knowledge of simulator systems and creating/modifying simulation and/or 3D models
Acceptance Test Procedures or debugging code while working on a project
Familiarity with configuration management procedures to correctly document changes to code
Knowledge and understanding of C/C++ OR Java
