Spark Power IT Business Analyst in Oakville, Ontario

IT Business Analyst

Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for an IT Business Analyst Reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis, you will conduct requirements analysis, assist in the design of scalable solutions and implement small to medium sized system enhancements. The individual in the role is driven to collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure we are optimizing applications and business processes that support our field services and operational teams. The successful applicant will be part of a team to maintain and develop an enterprise application suite that aligns with the organizations' strategic objectives. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

What will you do you as the IT Business Analyst

  • Drive the collection and translation of business requirements into detailed system and technical requirements

  • Facilitate progress on small to medium sized enhancements, projects and initiatives

  • Understand and contribute to the overall design required for application enhancements

  • Foster relationships across the organization; collaborate regularly with various departments and operational teams to drive value and demonstrate transparency

  • Comprehension and communication of common corporate business processes working in collaboration with end users to identify and drive process efficiencies.

  • Participates in the planning, development, maintenance, installation, configuration, documentation, training and implementation of enhancements

  • Support in the resolution of assigned tickets and application-related issues in a timely manner

  • Document application functionalities, training materials and conduct end user training sessions as required

  • Maintain objectivity at all times to ensure processes, applications and solutions are aligned and consistent with Spark's systems and technologies

  • Raise and escalate any issues and concerns with ITS management and/or business process owners

  • Make data-driven decisions and recommendations

  • Develop and maintain documentation as required

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:

  • University or post graduate education in a business or STEM discipline

  • Additional certifications that exemplify a desire for continued education is a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Implementation consulting, Business and/or Systems Analyst capacity

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze business requirements and work with project managers to prepare high level estimates for projects

  • Experience in analyzing data, queries and reports to support business processes and identify root cause analysis of reported issues

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic data architecture across multiple applications

  • Experience in Netsuite, Concur and/or Azure DevOps is an asset

  • Experience in delivering business solutions in an agile environment is an asset

  • Knowledge of ERP modular functionalities and (Operations, Sales & Marketing, Project Management, Asset Management, and Financial solutions).

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on the production of quality

  • Established competencies in the understanding of business processes and financial data and processes

  • Excellent ability to collaborate with all levels within the IT and Business organization

  • Excellent interaction skills and an ability to manage deliverables across multiple projects and multiple locations in a deadline driven environment

  • Ability to assimilate, analyze and facilitate information sharing

  • Ability to facilitate meetings such as end-user training or requirement gathering sessions

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, accountability and eagerness to learn
