Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is seeking dynamic and talented Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team!

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS , is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Registered Nurse, Admissions (ER experience a must) - Day or Night

Full-Time: Days, 7am – 7:30p or 7pm - 7:30am

Under the direction of the Admissions Director, the Assessment and Referral Nurse is responsible for completing assessment and admissions activities for inpatient units and works as a liaison with both the Nursing and Intake Departments. The Admissions Nurse ensures prompt responses to patient and referral needs, provides clinical assessments, assures appropriateness of risk assessments, crisis interventions and referrals to level of care. The Admissions Nurse promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

    Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility or ER preferred.

    Licensure:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, BLS.

    Additional Requirements:

  • CPR certification and successful completion of restraining procedures training

  • CPI within 30 days of employment.

  • Understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA and state and federal regulatory requirements.

  • Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.

  • Focus on providing high quality patient care.
