Job Summary
Campus Executive Chef - Mills College at Northeastern University (Oakland, CA)
Are you passionate about culinary innovation, leadership, and making a real impact on a campus community? Join us at Mills College at Northeastern University in Oakland, CA, where your creativity and expertise will drive an exceptional dining experience for students, faculty, and guests.
As our Executive Chef, you will be the senior culinary leader on campus, overseeing all aspects of residential dining, retail operations, and catering services. This is a dynamic role where you’ll shape menus, inspire teams, and bring bold, fresh ideas to life.

What You’ll Do:
Lead with innovation: Develop and execute creative culinary solutions that delight our guests and exceed client expectations.
Design exceptional menus: Craft exciting, seasonal menus for residential dining, retail outlets, and special catering events.
Create memorable experiences: Collaborate with internal teams and clients to design and deliver outstanding catering events, from concept through execution.
Manage operations: Oversee food and non-food inventory, ordering, and cost control measures to meet established financial goals.
Coach and inspire: Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Drive excellence: Ensure culinary quality through standardized recipes, production sheets, waste tracking, and frequent tastings.
Maintain safety and compliance: Uphold the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety, ensuring full compliance with health department and regulatory guidelines.
Stay engaged: Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and leadership programs to continue growing and evolving your culinary career.
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary degree preferred
Three to five years of culinary management experience
High volume production and catering experience is essential
Previous experience managing cost controls
Desire to learn and grow with a top notch foodservice company
