Conagra Forklift Driver in Oakdale, California

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $27.17

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will require a self-directed, team-oriented individual who takes pride and ownership in his/her work and is willing to accept total responsibility for the performance of the packaging operation on his/her shift. This individual must possess good mechanical skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to produce quality product at levels that will allow the plant to meet or exceed its goals and objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Some positions will require working in very hot and humid conditions when dealing with products coming out of the steam peelers and will require wearing protective gloves.

  • Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the employee to wear protective ear plugs.

  • Other conditions include wet floors, occasional strong odors from peppers and occasional fumes from cleaning chemicals.

  • Must be able to work any shift.

  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Forklift certification preferred.

2 plus years forklift experience.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Food industry experience preferred.

Computer controls (screens, keyboard) skills.

Math and record keeping skills.

Must possess a solid mechanical aptitude combined with technical training and/or the equivalent in manufacturing experience (preferably in food manufacturing).

Demonstrate creative troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.

Must be able to work any shift.

Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as required.

Requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Occasional Standing, walking, and lifting

Frequent Bending, Stooping, Squatting, Pushing and Pulling

Occasional Ladder climbing

Periodic lifting of up to 50lbs

Primary Duties

  • Select stock in accordance with shipping documents and deliver to proper location.

  • Receipts for and stores in proper location supplies of fibre, empty cans and other products or supplies received or stored.

  • Selects and delivers to labeling crew proper supply of products in accordance with labeling instructions.

  • Selects and delivers from label room the designated number of types of labels as per labeling documents.

  • Pick up pallet loads of case goods, boxes of raw product, sugar, other supplies, equipment, etc and transport.

  • Stack pallets of goods, unstack, load, unload railcars.

Secondary Duties

  • May operate any special equipment itemized in job description for “Lift Truck Operator – Special Equipment”

  • Other duties as assigned

Salary Range:

$27.17 per hour
