Job Description Summary

As a power transmission projects (ACS/GIS Substation – HVDC-FACTS) Construction Cost Estimator, you will play a critical role in the planning and development of electrical Power Transmission by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for technical proposal preparation, creating Bill of Materials (BOM). Your expertise in cost estimation, coupled with your technical knowledge, will be instrumental in driving the successful execution of the power transmission projects.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for electrical substation projects, considering all relevant factors, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.

  2. Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project requirements, site conditions, and technical specifications to inform cost estimates.

  3. Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed Construction cost breakdowns for use in project proposals and tender submissions.

  4. Bill of Material (BOM): Create comprehensive BOMs, including all necessary Construction Labour, equipment, and materials required for power transmission projects.

  5. Electrical Installation: Create electrical execution plan as required for cost estimation, aligned with contract specification and industry regulations.

  6. Commissioning: Create commissioning cost estimation based on conceptual commissioning plan aligned with contract specification and industry regulations.

  7. Vendor and Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services required for power transmission projects.

  8. Cost Control: Monitor project costs throughout the construction and commissioning phases, providing recommendations to project managers for cost control and mitigation strategies.

  9. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project cost estimates and construction phases and develop strategies to address them.

  10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, BOMs, layout plans, and project-related financial data.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Proven experience in cost estimation for electrical power transmission projects.

• Qualifications:

• Good knowledge in civil construction cost estimate.

• Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.

• Knowledge of industry-standard codes and regulations related to electrical substations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in cost estimation.

• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification in cost estimation or project management.

• Experience in renewable energy projects and green energy technologies.

• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and materials.

Working Conditions:

• The role is primarily office-based. conducting site visits as required.

• Involve travel to site visits, meet with suppliers, subcontractors, or attend project meetings.
