JOB OVERVIEW
Xcel Engineering is seeking a Cyber Infrastructure Engineer to join our team of talented and diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance of a leading research facility's cyber infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify potential security weaknesses and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents, breaches, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the proper configuration and deployment of security technologies
- Stay updated with the latest security threats and trends to continually enhance our security posture.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizen with eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, IT, or related field or additional years of experience can be substituted for education.
- At least (5) years of related experience.
- Linux OS knowledge.
- Experience in patching and maintaining servers.
- Experience with data pipelines such as Syslog/Nifi/Kafka.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ansible understanding is a bonus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Inside office environment.
- Working on a computer for long periods of time.
- May involve long period of sitting at a desk.
- The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures.
