Joyful Connections Supervised Visitation Monitor - PT in Oak Harbor, Ohio

Job Title:  Supervised Visitation Monitor

Supervisor:  Program Manager

Pay Status:  Part Time up to 20 Hours per Week

*Summary: * The Supervised Visitation Monitor will monitor visitations at the level prescribed by the court (or referring agency) and prepare a type-written narrative of each monitored visitation that will be reviewed by the Executive Director or designee.

Duties and Responsibilities:                                             Program

  • Prepare the narrative (fillable form) for the day's visits.
  • Greet and check in residential and visiting parties when they arrive at Joyful Connections.
  • Collect fees and provide receipts to parties.
  • Supervise the children in the event that they are waiting for the visiting party to arrive and/or they are waiting for the residential party to pick them up.
  • Monitor assigned visitations at the level the referring party has prescribed. Create a type-written narrative while monitoring the visitation using non-judgmental terms to describe activities.
  • Accompany/observe children any time they leave the assigned visitation area (bathroom, activity/book/game shelves and cabinets, entry area, etc.)
  • Intervene whenever behavior of the youth, or parents, is inappropriate, e.g., unsafe, disruptive, abusive, etc.
  • Report issues and concerns that occur while monitoring or interacting with clients to the executive director.
  • Clean up the visitation area after the youth and visiting parties leave the facility.

Miscellaneous

  • Complete annual training requirements.
  • Answer phones and take messages.
  • Record statistics as assigned.
  • File documents as assigned.
  • Clean the facility.
  • Assist with fundraising events as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     Qualifications:

  • Submit to and pass State and Federal criminal background checks.

  • Submit to and pass drug test.
  • Possess the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Possess the ability to de-escalate situations and resolve conflict.
  • Maintain scheduled attendance.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with office equipment.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience (paid or volunteer) working with adults and children in a social service capacity.

Days and Hours:
