Vector North America, Inc Field Application Engineer (PMC) in Novi, Michigan

Vector is seeking an Application Engineer** to join our measurement and calibration tools team in Novi, Michigan. You will be the liaison with Vector's products and the customer's applications. You will:

 

  • Focus on Vector tool applications connected to vehicle control systems.
  • Support customer projects to evaluate and deploy Vector measurement and calibration tools.
  • Work with customers to comprehend requirements and implement solutions.
  • Work with Vector product development teams as the voice of the customer.
  • Provide technical support for in-vehicle measurement and data logging systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues to resolution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through coaching, tech support, and coordination meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Ability to program and debugging in C/C++/C#/Python and similar languages.
  • Ability to work with customers and teammates in person and through virtual/written channels.
  • Interest in the vehicle development and test -- especially electric and/or autonomous vehicles.
    • Passenger cars
    • Heavy-duty trucks
    • Agricultural and construction equipment
  • Interest in vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, XCP, UDS, J1939.
  • Interest in driver assistance and self-driving vehicle technologies.
  • B.S. or higher in EE/SE/CE/CS or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Wear many hats and change roles dynamically with a can-do approach.
  • Take on multiple activities in parallel with an attention to detail for tracking all activities to completion.
  • Recognize, propose, develop, and deliver technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to foster collaborative problem solving within the team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation and listening.
  • Communicate effectively within the customer's organization and within the company.
