Furmano Foods is seeking a motivated, energetic, eager to learn Shift Supervisor - Food Production for our 2nd Shift Production Team.

Qualified and interested Candidates Must meet (or exceed) each of the following criteria without exception:

  • Verified Associate's Degree in any discipline - PREFERRED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year working within any Food Production / Manufacturing environment - PREFERRED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in any work environment - REQUIRED.
  • Proficient MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills and abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and proficient written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to work extended shifts, overtime and Saturdays as required.
  • Energetic, eager to learn, and optimistic behavior.
  • Prior off-shift (2nd or 3rd Shift) work experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Food safety is the responsibility of every employee. Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor of manager.

  1. Responsible to keep all production lines running in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to quality standards.

  2. Coach, train, mentor and develop employees.

  3. Ensures adherence to company rules and policies including but not limited to, GMP's and BRC policies, USDA, FDA, and OSHA regulations.

  4. Make recommendations to the Production Manager to assure continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.

  5. Creates daily/weekly schedule for all direct reports.

  6. Responsible for proper, accurate documentation and efficiency program of all direct reports.

  7. Meet or exceed objectives set forth by management.

  8. Maintain effective communication with direct reports, Maintenance Team, Warehouse, Human Resources, and procurement functions.

  9. Work with direct reports on technical issues, and interpersonal issues affecting the workplace.

  10. Provide timely information to the Maintenance Department on Maintenance issues.

  11. Maintain a positive teamwork atmosphere by actions, communicating and helping co-workers.

  12. Other duties as assigned by Production Manager.

  13. Develop an understanding of Assististics software and resolve inventory issues that arise.

  • Strong communication skills
  • 3-5 years experience operating production lines.
  • Strong personality and decision making skills
  • Make decisions based on reducing downtime and maximizing labor

  • Ability to motivate employees is a must
  • Ability to multiple task
  • Able to deal with employees in an honest and straight forward manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • 2nd shift: 3pm-11pm/ Night shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability in season with specific mandatory Saturdays
