Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment. This includes diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing, and adjusting. The role involves various mechanical skills including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. The mechanic will use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform their duties. Additionally, general building maintenance duties, ordering parts, and compliance with safety guidelines are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust.

  • Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Conduct general building maintenance duties including light repair and replacement, trash management, recycling, and plumbing.

  • Order parts and tooling as needed and approved by management.

  • Comply with OSHA Safety Guidelines and the company’s Safety program.

  • Submit issues to Quality as they arise to uphold the commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work station.

  • Embrace a team attitude that aligns with the company's Core Values.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Formal and extensive training in a mechanical environment

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment

  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing

Work Environment

The facility is extremely clean, organized, and not temperature controlled, but fans are used to keep the temperature down. The work environment can be variable, with work mostly conducted in the plant but sometimes outdoors with varying conditions. The facility contains elements such as fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise. Employees must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision.

This is a Permanent position based out of NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
