Hours: Administrators and Supervisors are expected to devote the necessary time and effort required to properly complete their assigned responsibilities. It is understood that such time and effort may exceed the limits of normal working hours.
The Greece Central School District (GCSD) is seeking highly-motivated, results-oriented administrators to lead our schools. Candidates must exhibit key leadership skills to assist the District with the REACH 2027 Strategic Plan: Ignite Learning, Cultivate Trust, Expand Opportunity. This is an entry-level administrative position intended to build and enhance school-based leadership knowledge and skills. Two years of administrative or teacher leader experience is preferred.
Requirements:
Must possess a valid New York State administrative certificate (SBL/SAS/SDA);
Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based curriculum design, assessment, and instructional practices;
Documented experience in leading professional development in evidence-based best practices to improve teacher development and increase student achievement;
Demonstrated leadership in working effectively with students, teachers, administrators, families, and community members;
Demonstrated educational practice rooted in a culture of high expectations and success for all students;
Demonstrated knowledge of the District's Strategic Plan and national best practices and trends for accelerating student achievement;
Demonstrated successful teaching experience related to working in socioeconomically and culturally diverse school settings;
Demonstrated capacity to use data analysis to guide decision making in order to promote school improvement;
Demonstrated knowledge of the processes of assessment, intervention and progress monitoring in order to support teacher calibration of instruction for all students;
Demonstrated experience with evidence-based instructional practices and a proven ability to support educators in designing and implementing an effective, well-integrated, structure of tiered supports that will increase literacy, and reading achievement; and
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, effective strategies to support student social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
Description:
The Assistant Principal for Student Support Services will play a pivotal role in coordinating and streamlining student support services, focusing on addressing the behavioral and social-emotional needs of students. This position will oversee and integrate mental health, behavioral, and community support systems to create a cohesive and effective support network.
Job Duties:
Supervise and evaluate school counselors, social workers, school psychologists, Center for Youth staff, behavior specialists/coordinator, Restorative TOSA, ISS/ATS staff;
Coordinate and streamline systems of integration between various student support services with support from mental health team and building based Assistant Director of PPS;
Develop and implement Tier 1 interventions, including SEL lesson plans, grade-level assemblies, and club activities;
Develop and implement Tier 2 interventions, such as mental health skills groups and classroom behavior management support;
Facilitate attendance team meetings;
Coordinate with mental health staff to address individual student attendance concerns;
Develop systems to improve attendance at Tier 1, 2, and 3 levels;
Collaborate with the substance abuse coordinator to identify at-risk students and develop/facilitate interventions;
Implement Tier 1, 2, and 3 substance abuse interventions;
Review behavior and SEL data to identify patterns and develop targeted interventions;
Identify students of concern through data analysis;
Analyze top behavior infractions and collaborate with administration and mental health staff to develop interventions;
Facilitate and participate in Tier 2 meetings, building problem-solving meetings, behavior team meetings, attendance team meetings, culture and climate meetings, and family and community engagement initiatives;
Facilitate weekly Center for Youth Staff meetings, and mental health team meetings; and
Participate in other relevant groups; and
Other duties as assigned.
