Mechanical Engineer, R&D, New Product Design

Relocation: Will assist

One of our clients needs a passionate Mechanical Engineer who can think outside the box to find new and better ways to build electrical products. Someone with a strong drive who’s drawn to the challenges of designing prototypes and improving existing products. As a strong technical team member, you’ll work in R&D, providing new designs and changes that yield enhancements in manufacturability, reliability, and cost. What will you be doing? 

•    Participating in R&D projects involving new product design

•    Contributing to mechanical design, layout, and prototype development for new products

•    Interfacing directly with outside contractors to define and document production assembly processes

•    Supporting the marketing team with drawings, graphics, renderings, and product data

•    Conceiving, researching, and implementing engineering design changes to improve manufacturability, reliability, and cost based on data-driven input

•    Providing mechanical engineering support to solve problems on the manufacturing floor

What skills/experience do you need? 

•    Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

•    Mid-level to senior-level experience in mechanical engineering

•    Proficiency in either Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD

•    Background in mechanical packaging design using sheet metal, machined parts, and injection moldable plastics

•    Ability to perform thermal calculations

•    Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
