Job Description
Come to work each day with an inclusive and collaborative business technology team. As a Business Systems Analyst in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you will have opportunities to lead and contribute to projects that impact patients and their communities for the better.
This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL
Purpose
Provides direct partnership and IT system ownership in support of stakeholders in R&D Development Sciences Chemical Manufacturing Control (CMC) ARD, DPD, PRD across various sites.
Responsibilities
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Uses appropriate tools to collect, correlate and analyze data; records and maintains technical system and SDLC documentation and training materials. Conducts tests; develops preliminary findings. Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques. Adheres to Abbvie system standards and procedures.
Manages projects according to project scope and milestones. Completes tasks assigned by more experienced analysts and managers. Determines approach and solution to problem when issue is within scope. Guides the efforts of technical teams and less experienced staff.
Develops solutions to problems within system applications where issues might be identified and precedents exist.
Applies analytical thinking skills to diagnose and make recommendations on systems. Incorporates knowledge of business and technology to make recommendations. Translates data gathered from user discussions into business requirements. Identifies business/system needs and recommends solutions. Assists with the testing strategies and develops preliminary findings.
Analyzes departmental processes and needs and makes recommendations that are most effective means to satisfy those needs. Analyses the most complex work procedures and job methods and presents concepts to simplify those procedures.
Work is performed and technical decisions are made with a high degree of independence and performance is judged by results obtained.
Works effectively with team/group to accomplish organizational goals. Actively participates in client or team meetings by offering suggestions. Exemplifies leader qualities in projects and in team setting.
Exercises latitude in approach to problem and solution. Work is reviewed for soundness of business judgement and to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved. Errors or failure to achieve expected results may result in project delays and/or the expenditure of more resources than was planned. Regular assignments are completed with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of technical experience, or Master’s degree plus 4 years of experience.
Experience in a Business System Analyst role.
IT system ownership and system implementation experience.
Project Management experience.
Experience in Vendor Relationship management.
Preferred:
Experience in pharmaceutical industry
Lifesciences and healthcare background strongly preferred
Adept in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
Experience working within GxP guidelines

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Salary: $82,500 - $157,500
