Norman Regional Health System Perioperative Admin Support I - Full Time - Days - HealthPlex Campus in Norman, Oklahoma

We have operating rooms located at the Porter campus and the Health Plex campus. The Porter campus has 10 operating rooms with services ranging from urology, general, neurology, and bariatrics. The Health Plex campus has 6 operating rooms in the main OR with services of orthopedics, general, and ENT, 1 hybrid room for cardiac cases, and 3 operating rooms for GYN and Robotic cases. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills. We orient new nurses to all of our surgical areas by providing a 16 week orientation with a dedicated preceptor in which nurses learn how to circulate cases in all of our service lines. Initiates and facilitates surgery and invasive procedure patient throughput by providing receptionist, clerical, scheduling, communication / coordination and other departmental duties in timely, efficient, customer-service oriented manner.

Coordinates and communicates effectively with various departments, physician offices, facilities, patients, families, staff and physicians.

EDUCATION

High school diploma GED required.

Completion of a Unit Secretary, Medical Office Assistant, or related course preferred.

Medical terminology course required.

EXPERIENCE

In lieu of coursework: Six (6) months experience as a Unit Secretary, Clerk, Medical Office Assistant, Nursing Assistant; or six (6) months of experience in a clerical or secretarial position which requires the use of medical terminology may be accepted.

Hospital clerical experience preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

OTHER KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Require ability to type and keyboard accurately.

Requires legible handwriting.

Prefer computer experience in various applicable programs.
