Robert Half Staff Accountant & AP Specialist in Norfolk, Virginia
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant & AP Specialist to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This role is pivotal in the non-profit industry, where you will be expected to process and maintain precise financial records, resolve customer inquiries, and monitor customer accounts. This short term contract employment opportunity offers a dynamic work environment with diverse responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Conducting regular bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
• Maintaining and updating the general ledger
• Preparing journal entries and ensuring month-end close processes are completed accurately
• Using Blackbaud software for various accounting tasks
• Assisting with AP cleanup and audits when required
• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Demonstrated ability in conducting Bank Reconciliations.
• Experience with maintaining the General Ledger.
• Proficiency in creating Journal Entries.
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures.
• Knowledge of Blackbaud software is preferred.
• Strong skills in Account Reconciliation.
