Business Consultant

Location: Ideal candidates will live or be willing to relocate to within 50 miles of our Pulse Point location at 5800 Northampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Business Consultant develops executive level reports and presentations to communicate the impact and path forward to achieve market goals set by leadership.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manage projects by increasing the competency of the team in the various technologies used by the client and coordination with the different teams for environment setup.

  • Communicate with Business/ IT manager and key stakeholders to determine project scope, key issues, and challenges in project deliverables.

  • Troubleshoot issues for business users and analysts.

  • Provide support to User Acceptance test and implementation.

  • Lead discussions about business solutions with Business/ IT team to resolve existing problems and improve application stability.

  • Act as technical lead for MMIS implementation to ensure encounters are tested and no deterioration to performance metrics.

  • Ensure quality standards and process adherence. Perform impact analysis and GAP analysis to determine “AS IS” and "To Be” scenarios.

  • Conduct ongoing pends and reject analysis to determine root cause and develop remediation steps.

  • Work with technical staff to design technical workflows and implementation details and provide effort estimation.

  • Interact with fellow technologists and end users to ensure the smooth running of the applications.

  • Assist with the migration of data.

  • Provide support in all SDLC phases.

  • Provide production support through data warehousing activities.

  • Monitor the performance of database applications and servers and assist with technical support as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study.

  • Eight (8) years of experience in related occupation(s).

  • Eight (8) years of experience must include: Eight (8) years of experience in information technology.

Additional Requirements:

  • Additional requirements: Three (3) years of experience with at least two of the following: Oracle, MS SQL and reporting.

  • Three (3) years of experience defining systems strategy and developing systems requirements, system gap determination, translation, facilitating solution design, and collaborating with developers for solution implementation.

  • Three (3) years of experience performing functional, regression, and system integration testing.

  • Three (3) years of experience demonstrating solutions to end-users and providing support for user acceptance testing.

  • Three (3) years of experience with EDI framework of encounter submission in accordance with HIPAA standards.

  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare domain.

  • Two (2) years of experience with Agile environment.

  • Two (2) years of experience triaging, analyzing impacts, GAP determination, troubleshooting, and leading the functional fix of production issues.

  • Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study, and six (6) years of experience.

  • Must have skills listed above.

SALARY : $127,878 per year
