Summary

The selected AC&R AEGIS Technician candidate will perform corrective and preventative maintenance mechanical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of US Navy Auxiliary equipment. This position is located in Norfolk, VA.

*This role is contingent upon being awarded the contract.

What You Will Do

  • Performs corrective and preventative maintenance mechanical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of US Navy Auxiliary equipment to include, but not limited to:

  • AEGIS Electronic Cooling Water Systems, Electric Cooling Water Pumps, AEGIS Seawater Pumps, Conductivity Panels, Dry Air Panels, Dedicated Dehydrators in combat spaces.

  • Troubleshooting and assessing of Electronic Cooling Water equipment in the official capacity of a SME for either a US Navy Engineering Activity, OEM, or industrial/commercial equivalent.

  • Provide strong organizational and technical skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work.

  • Expected to be self-motivated, customer oriented, possess strong analytic and communication (oral and written) skills.

What You Must Have

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.

  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

  • Must have recent experience (within two years) maintaining and operating US Navy Auxiliary equipment.

  • Must have working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, ship visit procedures, and post-visit reporting methods.

  • Must have experience troubleshooting, assessing, and inspecting shipboard systems and equipment.

  • Experience with proper techniques for identifying causes of equipment casualties.

  • Have the ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and piping drawings.

  • Must have computer/laptop hardware and software proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), necessary for compiling information and developing reports as required by the respective C250 Branch Head.

  • Possess the ability to review, update, and close assigned jobs in the prescribed government database.

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Prefer technical/professional certifications.

  • Prefer AEGIS systems experience.

  • A current, valid DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards,under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
