Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Norfolk, Virginia
Description Robert Half is actively seeking a permanent Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to become an integral part of a high performing team at a growing company in the Construction/Contractor industry. As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. You will have an opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. The permanent opening for an Account Payable Clerk is located in the Norfolk, Virginia area.
Responsibilities
Help with internal and external audits as required
Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
Accomplish full-cycle A/P
Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling
Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
Carry out additional projects as required
Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Strong time management and organizational skills
Enter Invoices experience
Deep understanding of account reconciliation
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
High-Volume Invoicing experience highly desired
Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
