$1000 SIGN-ON BONUS!! $17-$19/hour + Tips!
Tioga Downs is searching for both Full-Time and Part-Time Hairstylists to join our team at Serenity Spa located in our hotel. Our Stylists are employees of the company who are paid for all time worked, not by appointments booked. There are no booth rental fees and all supplies are provided. You keep what you earn!
The Hairstylist will perform various services include cutting hair using basic and advanced techniques and consulting customers about styles, colors, and applying hair care products to ensure all customers leave our salon satisfied and delighted with their new look.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Deliver the highest quality service to each and every customer by offering a thorough consultation, asking appropriate questions, and educating them on style, trend, and care.
•Wash, rinse and dry clients’ hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners. Apply styling and or treatment products as needed. (e.g. for oily hair or dry scalp)
•Cut, trim and shave hair using professional equipment.
•Apply a wide range of hair coloring techniques, like highlights, lowlights, Ombre and Balayage
•Create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks including updos, blowouts and set & style.
•Build relationships with customers, remembering their hairstyle preferences, to build customer loyalty
•Manage bookings and serve walk-ins while being prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
•Ensure tidiness of beauty stations and sterilize tools, as needed
•Cross-sell hair care products or services to ensure quality and continuity of care inside or outside of the Spa
•Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
•Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required
Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional customer experience
Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
Must ho ld and maintain a current New York State License OR
Have a current license in a state of Cosmetology Reciprocity along with required qualifications and be willing to become licensed prior to employment in NY (Ex: Have PA License and 2 years of experience with 2 experience statements from two different people, attesting that the applicant has been working as a cosmetologist for the specified number of years.)
