Newtown Savings Bank is looking for a positive, high energy, team player for a Part-time Customer Service Associate opportunity. Our Part-time Customer Service Associate role will implement and carry out Bank policy, procedures, and goals, with respect to the overall operation of the Customer Service Center (Call Center). This position provides customer service through a Call Center environment while strictly following all Regulatory Guidelines and Security Procedures; proactively cross sells all Bank Products and Services; uses proper and courteous telephone etiquette.

The typical 20-hour part-time schedule for this position are weekdays from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and every Saturday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

This position will have an assigned remote and on-site schedule. When working from home, use bank provided equipment, in a home setting that allows for uninterrupted work hours and a quiet environment to take customer calls. Must be able to commute to our Newtown, CT office to work onsite, when scheduled.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Within a Customer Service Center environment, respond to various incoming communications by providing prompt and courteous service to all external and internal customers. Provide customers with product and service information as well as account resolution. Document each communication appropriately.

  • Courteously resolve 1st level customer complaints with a first-time resolution, refer as needed to appropriate individual.

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding all Bank services and product suites. Product suites to include both deposit and loan products. Use knowledge to actively solicit new business from both customers and potential customers. Promote the complete line of deposit products and services as well as referring to Branches, Commercial Lending, Mortgage and Newtown Investment Solutions and appropriate.

  • Process and settle customer transactions received through incoming communication channels, using the appropriate operating system.

  • Maintain knowledge and follow all CIP, BSA, AML and OFAC requirements, as set forth in the Bank’s policies, procedures, and programs. Complete all compliance requirements by scheduled deadlines.

  • Scan, index and verify Customer/Bank documents for Retail Banking System.

  • Support the Bank’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values.

  • Support coaches and branch management in creating and maintaining an environment where employees feel engaged, supported, and valued.

  • Perform Customer Service Specialist duties in the absence of a Customer Service Specialist.

  • Meet the Bank’s volunteer specifications and be involved in community activities as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 year Banking experience

  • Bilingual preferred

  • Ability to listen well and follow instruction

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Knowledge of basic computer applications

  • Verbal and Written Communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Proper telephone etiquette

  • Knowledge of Banking Rules and Regulations
