Our client, a leading electrical contracting company based in Newtown, CT is seeking a talented Electrical Project Manager to join their team immediately!
Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager who will manage a larger volume of projects with varying levels of complexity. This role requires overseeing multiple concurrent projects, providing strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives aimed at improving operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of complex projects across multiple sectors and lines of business.
Provide on-site leadership for project teams, building and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones.
Oversee all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Report on project success criteria, metrics, and deployment management activities.
Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction cost estimation and project financial projections.
Accurately project costs for project phases, including materials and labor hours.
Identify and mitigate scope creep risks, handle design errors, and manage project change orders.
Sell project change orders to increase margins.
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Establish practices, templates, policies, and tools to expand organizational capabilities.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
Coordinate with general supervisors and foremen to review and set expectations for project labor hours.
Procure resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
Manage day-to-day project activities and resources, and communicate additional requirements.
Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
Provide status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues.
Ensure adherence to detailed project execution processes.
Support quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
Assist in dispute resolution, negotiations, and litigation as needed.
Manage all aspects of project planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, changes, risks, and issues.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues and conflicts.
Coach, mentor, and supervise project and program teams.
Deliver executive-level communication.
Ensure projects and programs proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Essential Skills
7+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with a preferred project management role.
5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle and technology methodologies.
Maintains journeyman or master electrical license(s).
Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, and BlueBeam.
Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
Proven success in leading projects to completion on time and within budget.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
E1/E2 license preferred.
Experience with Accubid, ConEst.
Experience with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, buyouts.
Project management skills.
Experience in commercial, healthcare, and multifamily projects ranging from $1k to $16M.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position. The bulk of the work is in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties. The role involves managing projects across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, and multifamily. The work environment is collaborative and supports diverse and inclusive practices. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
