*PURPOSE OF POSITION *
The Skilled Laborer / Assembler is responsible for grinding, welding, fitting, and assembling all steel, iron, and manganese rail points for track work related products to the specifications provided by engineering.
*Task and Responsibilities: *
Operate hydraulic benders or presses to straighten manganese castings
Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
Ability to operate grinder, welder and power tools
- Proficiently assemble all switch points built at plant
- Safely operate powered industrial truck
Able to work with little supervision
Adhere to Nortraks Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
Routine cleanup of work area
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing abilities related to job assigned.
