McLaughlin Research Corporation ELECTRICAL ENGINEER-JD2 in Newport, Rhode Island

McLaughlin Research Corporation is offering an exciting opportunity for entry level or mid-level ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS to support the Undersea Warfare Platforms and Payload Integration Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island. Specific tasking spans the submarine Vertical Launch Systems (VLS) and Weapons Launch and Handling Systems (WLHS), over various submarine platforms.

Primary responsibilities involve, but are not limited to:

  • Full life-cycle engineering, including support of analog and digital control panels and related equipment
  • Fleet modernization concept development and design, prototyping of new hardware/software
  • Evaluation of new and updated submarine launching systems
  • Supply chain support, including acquisition and material obsolescence alternatives
  • Conducting payload integration testing of new or existing payloads
  • Provide system installation field support
  • Respond to Fleet Maintenance activity to troubleshoot issues

The qualified candidate will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of electrical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's level degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience required

Individual should be goal oriented and have a strong work ethic as well as have the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
