Summary You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (NUCLEAR) in the Waterfront Operations Department, Aircraft Carrier CONV/OVH Division of SUPSHIP. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will manage the nuclear material requests initiated by the ship's force nuclear station office. You will serve as the central point of contact on matters pertaining to the assigned areas of the overhaul project. You will maintain liaison with the customers, ship's force, functional departments, and the contractor. You will assure funds are adequately and timely provided to prevent impact to the work. You will estimate the amount of funding required of the individual customers to fund new nuclear work. You will coordinate accomplishments of all tasks related to assigned overhaul projects. You will resolve problems which can affect end cost, schedule, and performance of the contract schedule. You will review proposed changes to the overhaul work package for technical accuracy. You will participate in meetings, briefs, and conferences with higher management. You will negotiate with contractor personnel on a daily basis to eliminate schedule impact of changes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing production methods by analyzing project aspects (i.e. schedule, cost, resources, or manpower) to ensure completion of ship overhaul and repair projects.
