Job Title: Facilities Tech/HVAC
Job Description
As a Facility Technician, you will load and unload equipment, perform basic preventative maintenance, and undertake minor repairs to ensure the equipment operates safely and effectively, minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
Load and unload equipment as needed.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment.
Conduct minor repairs on equipment to prevent downtime.
Utilize operational process/system aptitude in daily tasks.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
Work both indoors and outdoors as required by the job.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of experience with repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment.
Basic knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater, HVAC, and Diesel driven Pumps.
Understanding of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics.
EPA Universal certification.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with generators, hydraulics, and electronics.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more.

Work Environment
You will start working in our shop at the Chesapeake location and later move to Newport News Shipyard/HII to help maintain their rental HVAC equipment. The role demands physical tasks such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more, with work conducted both indoors and outdoors as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
