Big Canyon Country Club Bartender - PT in Newport Beach, California

Bartender- Part Time

The Bartender is responsible for mixing, serving, and offering recommendations on drinks to Members and guests. This position requires a focus on courtesy, as well as efficiency for our Members and team. Please note Big Canyon Country Club has a non-gratuity policy.

Duties & Expectations

  • Primary role is to set up/ breakdown Banquet and Club event bars. Bartender to assist Pool, Canyon Room and Dining Room bars as needed

  • Check ID of Members/Guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol

  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare balanced cocktails and other drinks

  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer

  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and items such as ice, glassware, napkins, etc.

  • Clean glasses, utensils, bar equipment, and ensure a clean work area

  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to Members excessive drinking. Such as, persuading customers to stop drinking or offering an Uber for intoxicated patrons

  • Take beverage orders from the Server Team or directly from Members

  • Assist with training servers and other bartenders

  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

    Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have two years of bar tending experience

  • Must have knowledge of government alcoholic beverage service regulations, RBS certification

  • Must be able to identify underage drinking, fake IDs, and intoxication of customers

  • Must have strong customer service experience in a high volume establishment

  • Must be able to work on all holidays, weekends, nights, and day shifts as needed

  • Requires repetitive movement, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools

  • Requires standing, walking, and/or bending for long periods throughout the shift

  • Lifting 25 lbs or up to 50 lbs at time

  • Previous bar experience preferred

  • Previous hospitality experience preferred

  • Possess a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with all departments and members
