Job Description:

Prepare accurate daily hospital bank deposits. Maintain accurate posting to accounts receivable, bad debt, and general ledger accounts. Provides clerical support in an effort to ensure that timely and cost effective measures are taken on all types of refunds and process refunds weekly.

Accurately verifies all insurance checks against outstanding accounts receivable and bad debt accounts on a daily basis.

Prepares checks/remittances advises for posting to cash sheet documenting all contractual allowances, to account when necessary.

Prepares each bank deposit, (completed cash sheet for each bank deposit).

Accurately performs data entry of cash and adjustments batches

Works collaboratively with the Finance department to assure proper paper work is completed and information is validated

Works collaboratively with regulatory agencies to assure that all paper work and refunds are completed timely.

Adheres to quality assurance standards and accurately assess coordination of benefit information.

Researches all unidentified cash, initiates contact with payor to determine correct application of payments.

Utilizes supervisor/director for problem solving and guidance as needed.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience

Three years of related work experience that would indicate a high level of communications skills, organizational ability, and knowledge of third party regulations and insurances.

Must possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others.
