The Office of Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (OSGLI) administers the Servicemembers Group Life Insurance program (SGLI). The SGLI offers life insurance products to active service members, Veterans and their families. Prudential has been administering this program since 1965.
The OSGLI Accounting Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the general Accounting function with a primary focus on the accuracy and maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements as well as operational accounting responsibilities. You will be accountable for the planning, leadership and day-to-day guidance to staff accountants and analyst. You will lead a team of skilled individuals, collaborate with others, enhance and transform the way we operate, while meeting and exceeding our commitments to the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are seeking goal-oriented leader, an accountable and highly reliable individual, possessing innovative thinking, with strong financial expertise.
The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Overall leadership and oversight of the Accounting team.
Partner with internal and external parties regarding financial policy, procedure, audit, and control related efforts.
Define, develop, and enhance metrics and reporting
Monitor all SGLI accounts, including quarterly sign-offs
Primary contact for external audit for Accounting
Champion and lead projects, efforts, and initiatives that impact and influence our financial service and reporting commitments
What youll need:
Bachelors degree required
Minimum 5 years of insurance or accounting experience
Leadership and talent management experience including development approach
Demonstrated experience building a diverse, inclusive environment
Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, strategic thinking abilities
Proven results orientation, excellent relationship building skills, and ability to work cross-functionally to achieve goals
Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint

An applicant's refusal or failure to comply with this requirement will cause the applicant to become ineligible for this position. In addition, an applicant's failure to pass the Department of Veterans Affairs background screen may result in disciplinary action up to and including the termination of employment.

CPA or CFA designation
Knowledge of the Group Insurance operation and its products
Experience using Tableau
