The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The Operations & Research Enablement team sits within the Global Brand Strategy & Insights (GBSI) team. We are responsible for providing governance, ensuring effective controls, and enabling a compliant, global market research process.
We are seeking a Sr. Analyst, Operations who will be responsible for enhancing governance and ensuring oversight for GBSI marketing operations. This position will report into Manager, Operations.
This role will be responsible for mapping and optimizing marketing processes, identifying and mitigating operational and reputational risks, and driving compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will excel at guiding teams without direct authority, ensuring marketing initiatives comply with regulatory and brand safety standards while optimizing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) documentation, controls and testing to mitigate operational, brand safety, and reputational risks within marketing processes
Manage annual Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation & updates
Understand and document the workflows of various marketing teams, creating detailed process maps and data flow diagrams to enhance operational clarity
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance documentation and controls, and develop risk mitigation strategies
Liaise with Control Management, GCO, Compliance, Privacy to ensure processes are designed and maintained to adhere to company policy and regulatory requirements
Partner with GABM Operations & Enablement team to ensure processes and governance sync with central guidance
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in marketing operations, audit, compliance, risk management, or a related field
Excellent project management, organizational skills, and communication skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Set the agenda and lead teams through complex privacy, compliance, and approval processes, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design and implement risk mitigation controls
Experience in process mapping, data flow diagramming, and risk assessment techniques
Experience with marketing technology, data governance, or regulatory compliance frameworks a plus
Understanding of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and their implications on marketing workflows a plus.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
